Where our story began...
I grew up surrounded by creativity in the most natural way — flower arrangements brightening corners, paintings warming our home, decorated aarti thaalis, festive décor, and meals plated like little works of art. My grandmother, mother, and aunts wove creativity into everyday living. Art wasn’t an activity; it was a way of life.
When I became a mother, that quiet creativity returned through my daughters, Ahana and Tarini. Ahana was drawn to colour from the start, and Tarini brought her own joyful curiosity. Like many moms, I often felt the familiar mom guilt — wondering if I was giving them enough presence. But every time we sat down with paints, papers, and glitter, the guilt softened. Those moments became our pause, bringing calm into our busy routine.
I watched my girls explore freely — touching every texture, mixing unexpected materials, creating without limits. That little insight became the foundation of our mixed-media DIY kits: crafted to let children discover, combine, and create with complete freedom.
These simple art sessions became the happiest part of our day — a reminder to slow down, laugh more, and embrace the beautiful mess of motherhood.
And that’s how Pixie & The Elf was born in 2025 in Kolkata — to share that same connection with other families. A space where crafts become conversations, and creativity becomes a gentle way to bond.
